Synopsis:
It’s the night that the president is going to announce the first 21-day lockdown in South Africa. Inside a pub-restaurant in McGregor village, we meet a range of characters, from locals to weekend visitors from the city.
The narrative jumps from table to table. A tense couple are supposedly celebrating an anniversary, a family celebrates their youngest daughter’s university acceptance, a worried waiter and waitress try to keep the show going, and an old local widow is set up on a date with the village busker.
The president finally speaks, and different reactions to the news from different characters are demonstrated. In such a surreal moment, the characters try to process the news and end up joining together for one last supper together before lockdown.
